FIBER JOINT CLOSURES

Fiber Joint Closures (HST)

The Fiber Joint Closure (HST) is designed for heat shrink sealing and can be used in various environments, including aerial, pedestal, buried, and manhole installations. It is suitable for accommodating up to 96 fibers, making it ideal for various splice applications such as track (backbone), spur (branch), or distribution points. The closure features a robust and reliable heat shrink mechanism for sealing cable ports.

Applications

Key Features

Sealing Protection:
IP 68 rated, ensuring high protection against dust and water ingress.

Zero Additional Loss:
No additional loss when routing optic fibers in the splice trays during installation and maintenance.
Unique Strength Member Clamp Assembly:
Prevents cable sheath movement with temperature changes.

No Specialized Tools Needed:
Easy installation without the need for specialized tools.

Resistance to UV and Temperature Fluctuation:
Suitable for all environments, including buried, underground, and aerial installations.

Bend Controls in Splicing Tray:
Guides and protects the pigtail cable, ensuring controlled cable bending.

Rugged Construction:
Ensures long-term reliability.

Minimal Training Required:
Cost savings and easy installation.

Splicing Tray Lid:
Protects the splice fibers from coming out of the trays.

Transport Tubes for Fibers:
Prevents fiber breakage at the tray entry during installation and maintenance.

Easily Re-Enterable Design:
Economical and future-ready (only for mechanical type).

Construction and Design

The Fiber Joint Closure comprises a plastic moulded dome-shaped housing with fiber management trays attached to an end cap. It includes 4 round cable entry ports and a single oval cable entry port for the main distribution cable. The ports can be sealed using heat shrink sleeves and a blow torch, with no special tools required for assembly and re-entry.

Fiber Management
  • Each tray can accommodate up to 24 fusion splice sleeves.
  • Trays are hinged at one end, allowing easy access to each tray without disturbing the others.
  • Fibers from one tray can be easily spliced to fibers on another tray due to the stacked design.
Benefits
    • Reliable Sealing: The heat shrink mechanism ensures a robust seal, protecting the fibers from environmental factors.
    • Versatile Application: Suitable for a wide range of environments and fiber counts.
    • Ease of Installation: No specialized tools or extensive training required, reducing installation time and costs.
    • Durability: Constructed from high-quality materials, ensuring long-term reliability and resistance to UV and temperature fluctuations.
